Donate NowCaring for Kenya's vulnerable children since 1961
Kenya Children's Homes (KCH) is one of Kenya's oldest children's charities, founded in 1961 as Thomas Barnardo House in Nairobi.
What began as a children's home has grown into a broader, education-focused organisation supporting vulnerable children through care, mentorship, sponsorship, reintegration, and family-based support.
Today, KCH provides care, mentorship, and education to hundreds of children, while supporting up to 400 children across Kenya each year through its programmes.
After 23 years of partnership and support, Kenya Children's Homes UK handed over the organisation to the Board in 2025, marking a new chapter of locally led leadership and impact.

Kenya Children's Homes is more than one location or one programme — it is a connected model of care, education, rescue, and long-term support.
Providing safe, stable environments for children who need immediate support and protection.
Supporting children from primary school through to university with learning, discipline, and long-term opportunity.
Intervening where girls and children face serious risk, including early marriage, FGM, or unsafe home situations.
Helping children remain with family while receiving school fees, supplies, mentorship, and practical support.
Walking with children and guardians over time so family-based futures remain safe, stable, and sustainable.
Supporting vulnerable children and families across Kenya
Helping children remain in family settings while receiving education, daily support, and follow-up care through sponsorship and reintegration.
Rescuing Maasai girls from FGM and early marriage — giving them education, safety, and a future.
Supporting children toward permanent, loving family placement wherever adoption is in the child's best interest and fully guided by legal process.
A key part of the KCH journey — helping children access consistent, high-quality education in a supportive learning environment.
Ventures like Kelvin Bakery, the thrift shop, and Westminster Events Center help strengthen sustainability and support the wider mission of KCH.
